LIVESTOCK AND POULTRY

The Food Balance Sheet shows that the present supply of carabeef is 389.69 metric tons while the demand is only 79.89 metric tons and the present supply of beef is 83.35 while the demand is 79.89 metric tons. Based on this, there is a surplus in both commodities to feed the households of Binalbagan. The probable reason for the surplus is that residents of Himamaylan do their marketing at Binalbagan Public Market in the afternoons.

Despite of the law prohibiting the slaughter of young cattle, reports of this illegal practice are rampant.
