GOVERNMENT

The Municipality of Binalbagan is one of the five (5) municipalities composing the fifth congressional district of the Province of Negros Occidental. Presently, it is classified as a 3th class municipality per income classification of the Department of Finance.

The three branches of government, namely: a) the executive, b) legislative and c) judiciary, are present in the area. The Mayor heads the executive branch while the Sangguniang Bayan performs as the legislative or law making body in the municipality. The Municipal Circuit Trial Court (MCTC), headed by the Municipal Circuit Trial Court Judge acts as the judiciary branch.
